New York (My first home)

New York (my first home):

This past weekend I traveled from CT to NY. New York is where I was born, and where the majority of my friends and family are. I was born in Glens Falls, NY and moved to Maine five short years later. I found myself back in the state when I went to college up at Clarkson University. While at school all the friends I made seemed to stretch across the entire state. The connections I made with all those people are still strong today, no matter how long we go without seeing each other. Nothing makes you feel more at home than re-connecting with people who you've spent some of the best years of your life with!
While I was visiting, I spent most of my time in either Troy or Saratoga Springs; both of which are awesome places to see. I decided to really get into the summer mood with my outfit choices.  White pants and a jean jacket go hand and hand and are definitely my comfortable go-to's. I love peach and
lavender colors this time of year and tried to incorporate them into my wardrobe as much as possible!

Weekend Casual

Weekend C a s u a l :  West Hartford, CT

This is such a great Sunday look if you want to be cute and comfortable while you run errands!

First off - if you don't have at least one of these classic Longchamp Le Pliage bags, you must get one! The pink one in this post is the larger size and priced at $145 and the small ones are $125. Throughout college I used one almost every day in black and it withheld countless books, laptops, and other college necessities for FOUR years; and I still use it today!  Bottom line is that this bag will be your answer if you're looking for a quality and classic looking tote.

The jacket is thicker material with an army print style from Express. It looks great with almost any color bottoms, and adds some sass to a boring outfit. You can dress it up or down like I did this past weekend, adding converse and a light wash ripped jean. I feel like the army print balanced out the pink tote and make the color pop!

Watch Hill - RI

Weekend in Watch Hill

This weekend I went to Watch Hill, Rhode Island for the first time and it was absolutely gorgeous. I went with two great friends from college that I don't get to see as often as I'd like. The trip turned out to be an awesome time reconnecting with each other and reminiscing on days back at school.

Watch Hill is a pretty fancy area in my opinion. The homes are out of this world and picture perfect views of the ocean are around every corner.

I decided to keep it light and comfortable when it came to my outfit that day. I wore my favorite Express white jeans and a light pink top from Ann Taylor. It was the perfect spring look for the windy ocean front weather.

One cool fact about Watch Hill is that Taylor Swift has a 17 million dollar mansion there; which is incredible.
Pretending this is my summer home.

If life gives you rain- break out the Hunters

Weather in New England is something special. One day it's 75 and sunny and the next it's rainy and 45. This causes major chaos in my outfit choices. I find myself checking my weather app just as much as instagram.
Today it was one of those cold, cloudy, and rainy days where you want to dress for spring but you could still be wearing one of your winter sweaters. (you know-the ones you already packed away for the summer).

The only good part that comes with days like this is being able to break out the Hunter boots.  I've had these boots for 5 years now and they are a staple in my wardrobe. I paired them with a striped casual black and white dress and a denim J Crew jacket- another staple. This is by far my favorite jean jacket I've ever owned. It's so comfy and loose that you don't ever feel restricted when you wear it. Its safe to say I wear it almost every day in the spring. Most people forget about the J Crew factory website. It's basically their clearance but on an entirely separate site. It's absolutely amazing for finding key pieces to add to your wardrobe.

This outfit is easy, comfortable and looks like I put in a lot more effort than I actually did, that's why I love it.
I recommend splurging on those key pieces in your closet you know you'll never get sick of! (It's worth it, trust me)
